Sovereign 1000 Straight Steam Cylinder Oil

Sovereign 1000 Straight Steam Cylinder Oil is a premium non-compounded steam cylinder oil from Morris Lubricants, refined to deliver exceptional film strength at very high temperatures. The highest viscosity grade in the Sovereign range, it is specifically recommended for steam engines operating with high temperature superheated steam exceeding 550°F (288°C), where a more viscous oil is essential for reliable cylinder and valve protection.

Like all Sovereign grades, it offers superior oxidation resistance, low deposit forming characteristics under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure, and strong demulsification properties — separating quickly and cleanly from water. Non-staining and safe on paintwork and brasses, Sovereign 1000 is recommended for all steam engines utilising wet or dry steam and is the preferred choice over compounded products where steam is being recovered for use as boiler or process feed. Meets British Rail schedule number MT276.
